when i see Obama and Wright together, i see the ambivalence and ambiguousness of race in both of them.
intermarriage.
as a white male, i’m merely commenting on the lightness of their skin.
i could care less, but african americans, by their own admission, are notorious for judging one another by the blackness or ‘lightness’ of their skin…
barack and jeremiah are decidedly light.
What does this mean?
Possibly nothing. Or possibly, that very characteristic might create their schizophrenic postures–Wright’s militancy, Obama’s conciliatory stance.
